FashMe

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

FashMe (“FashMe”, “we”, “us”) is a styling app owned and operated by Richard Perry in Lansing, Michigan, USA. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. You must be 18 or older to use FashMe.

1. What we collect

InformationWhy we need it
Account details — email address, password (stored hashed by our sign-in provider, never in plain text) and the name you give usTo create and secure your account.
Plan and trial — your plan, when your free trial started, your AI-consent dateTo apply the right limits and show your plan.
Style choices — the styles you pick and, only if you choose to enter it, your gender identityTo tailor outfits and stylist matches. Your gender identity is private. It is only sent to the AI if you turn on “share for styling”.
Photos you send for styling and the names of closet pieces you pick, plus your occasion, budget and notesTo create outfit ideas and fit ratings (see section 3).
Closet and saved looksStored on your phone only. We don’t keep a copy on our servers.
Stylist sessions — bookings (time, type, notes you add, price), chat messages and photos you send in chat, and reviews you writeTo run bookings and chat between customers and stylists.
If you are a stylist — your application, display name, bio, city, rates, weekly hours, social links and portfolio photosTo review your application and show your public profile.
Payments for stylist sessionsHandled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep the amounts and Stripe references for each paid session.
Location — only when you tap “Use my location” in Shop near meTo find stores around you (see section 4).
Reports and blocks you make or that are made about youTo keep the community safe.
Basic technical logs — time, request type, result and size of requests to our servers, and your IP address for abuse preventionTo keep the service running and secure.

We do not show ads, we do not sell your personal information, and the app does not currently include third-party advertising or analytics tools.

2. Subscriptions

Subscriptions (Starter, Basic AI, Premium and Ultra) are bought and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Apple or Google handles your payment details. We receive confirmation of which plan is active. We may use a subscription-management service such as RevenueCat to read that confirmation.

3. AI styling and Google Gemini

Before your first AI request, FashMe asks you to agree. When you tap Style Me or ask the AI to rate a fit, the photos you picked, the names of the closet pieces you picked, your occasion, budget, notes and style choices are sent through our server to Google Gemini, Google’s AI service, which creates the outfit ideas. We use Google’s paid Gemini API tier. Under Google’s paid-tier terms, the content we send is not used to train Google’s models, and Google may keep it for a limited time to operate the service and detect abuse. Google processes it under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Location

If you tap “Use my location”, your phone asks permission first. We send an approximate position (rounded to about 100 metres) to our server, which asks a map service built on OpenStreetMap data for nearby stores. We don’t keep a history of your locations. Our server may keep a short-lived cache of store results for an area, not tied to you. Your phone remembers the last place you looked so the screen can reopen there. You can instead type a ZIP code or city. You can turn location permission off in your phone settings at any time.

5. Who we share information with

6. How long we keep it

7. Your choices and rights

8. Children

FashMe is for adults. You must be 18 or older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has an account, email us and we’ll delete it.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections, access rules in our database so people can only see their own data, and keep our secret keys on the server, not in the app. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
